Disney Unveils Concept for Asteria, Its Second Storyliving Community in North Carolina
Disney has unveiled its vision for Asteria, a planned residential community in North Carolina. The development, which spans 1,500 acres and includes over 4,000 residential units, is Disney's second Storyliving community. Initially announced in December 2023, sales are expected to begin in 2027.
The entryway concept for Asteria reflects the natural beauty of North Carolina's Piedmont region. Walt Disney Imagineering provided creative guidance, and the design features dry-stack stonework using locally sourced stone, including metavolcanic rock, quartz, and rhyolite.
A signature element of the entryway is a moon gate, an arched gateway that frames the landscape beyond. The Second Star Club will be another key amenity, inspired by the celestial compass in Disney's 'Peter Pan' film. The club will include high-tech tools, a wellness center, adult-only and family-friendly pools, and more.
