Disney Unveils Entrance Concept for North Carolina Storyliving Community

Disney has unveiled its concept for the entrance to 'Asteria', a planned community in North Carolina's Chatham County. The entryway will be inspired by both the local landscape and Disney's iconic movies, featuring quartz and an arched gateway.

The dry-stack stonework will use stone sourced from the site, including metavolcanic rock, quartz, and rhyolite. Asteria is set to include over 4,000 residential units and a community gathering space, with developers expecting the first residents to move in by fall 2028.

The entry design aims to reflect the natural beauty of North Carolina's Piedmont region, according to Disney Parks Experience Karlee Dutton. Walt Disney Imagineering provided creative guidance for the project.
