Disney Unveils First Look at Monsters, Inc. Theme Park Land's Restaurant

Disney's Monsters, Inc. theme park land is taking shape at Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios.

The new area, called Monstropolis, will be divided into two phases: Phase 1, which includes a show and several restaurants, is set to open in 2027; Phase 2, featuring the main attraction - a roller coaster through the factory's door vault - is expected in 2028.

Among the restaurants opening with Phase 1 will be Harryhausen's, a table-service eatery inspired by the film. The restaurant will feature an Audio-Animatronics figure of an octopus sushi chef 'preparing' meals for guests.

The chef will be seen chopping food, adding spices, and making sure each dish is prepared to his standards.

Michael Hundgen, VP Creative of the Walt Disney World Portfolio at Walt Disney Imagineering, stated that Harryhausen's will feature a menu unlike anything else offered at Walt Disney World.
