Disney Unveils Four New Animal Figures for Tropical Americas Carousel
The upcoming Tropical Americas carousel ride at Disney's Animal Kingdom has revealed four new animal figures that will be part of the attraction. The ride was first announced at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event in 2024, where a figure inspired by Kevin from Up was showcased. At this year's D23 event, Walt Disney Imagineering shared additional details about the ride, including the four newly revealed creatures.
The animals that will be featured on the carousel are Eeyore, Chispi the capybara from Encanto, Pua from Moana, and Nigel from Finding Nemo. Each figure has been crafted in a wood-carved style with colorful saddles that match the character's movie or home. For example, Pua's saddle features tropical flowers, while Eeyore's saddle is adorned with forest flowers.
The Tropical Americas carousel was said to have been crafted by a local wood carver, according to its backstory. The ride's theme and design are inspired by the rich cultural heritage of the Tropical Americas region. Disney fans can now look forward to riding these unique animal figures when the attraction opens at Animal Kingdom.
