Disney Unveils Immersive World of Animation at Hollywood Studios
Disney's Hollywood Studios has been revamped with the opening of The Magic of Disney Animation. This new attraction is located in the Walt Disney Studios area, where the courtyard was recently refreshed and reopened. The building that houses this experience used to be Star Wars: Launch Bay but has now been transformed into an immersive space inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios.
The Magic of Disney Animation features a map to help guests navigate through its various sections. Upon entering, visitors are greeted by a reception area with a photo opportunity featuring characters from Disney films. The experience is designed to give the impression that animators have temporarily stepped away, and characters come to life in their place.
One of the main areas within The Magic of Disney Animation is Olaf Draws, where guests can learn how to draw iconic Disney animated characters led by an animatronic Olaf. Each class features a different character, and there are also interactive elements such as desks with stools and a space for parents and small children to sit together.
The experience extends beyond the galleries, with four key areas that visitors can explore. These include Off the Page, where guests can meet beloved Disney characters across various animation departments; Drawn to Wonderland Playground, an indoor play area inspired by Alice in Wonderland; The Once Upon A Studio Theater, where the short film Once Upon a Studio is screened; and The Studio Store, a gift shop offering a range of merchandise inspired by Disney animation.
