Disney Unveils Largest Expansion Project in History with New Additions to Magic Kingdom

Walt Disney World has unveiled its largest expansion project in history at D23 2026, with new additions to Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, and other parks. The updates include a revamped Carousel of Progress at Magic Kingdom, which will feature four new decades and a new scene, including the first-ever Florida-based Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure.

The beloved John and Sarah from the attraction will be voiced by Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis and Emmy Award-winning Bryan Cranston. The updated attraction is set to open in late spring 2027.

Piston Peak, a new Cars-themed area coming to Magic Kingdom, has been announced. The land takes inspiration from America's National Parks and the storytelling of Disney and Pixar's Cars franchise. It will include two attractions: Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along and Cars Ridge Run Rally.
