Disney Unveils New Lands, Attractions, and Updates for Walt Disney World and Disneyland

The Walt Disney Company made several announcements at its recent D23 expo regarding upcoming rides and lands. One of the highly-anticipated expansions is Villains Land, a themed area coming to Magic Kingdom in Walt Disney World. The land will be centered around an evil wish that corrupts the area, allowing iconic Disney villains to build their lairs away from the heroic antics of the rest of the park.

Two major attractions were announced for Villains Land: a high-speed roller coaster themed after Maleficent and a dark ride hosted by the Magic Mirror. The land's opening date has not been officially announced, but construction is expected to begin soon.

In addition to Villains Land, Disney also revealed details about other upcoming expansions, including Monstropolis, a 'Monster's Inc' themed land coming to Walt Disney World's Hollywood Studios in 2027. The land will feature attractions like Glob Theater and Harryhausen's Restaurant, as well as multiple locations from the films.

Other notable announcements include new rides and attractions for various Disney parks, including Topical Americas land in Animal Kingdom and Avengers Campus in Disneyland. Tomorrowland in Disneyland is also undergoing a major update, with three fan-favorite attractions receiving complete overhauls.
