Disney Unveils Plans for New Lands and Attractions at Disneyland and Disney World

The Walt Disney Company has revealed its plans for new lands and attractions at Disneyland and Disney World through 2027. The information was shared during the D23 Expo, a biennial event where Disney showcases its upcoming projects.

This year's showcase focused on providing progress updates on previously announced projects, rather than revealing entirely new concepts. One of the most exciting announcements came for Magic Kingdom, which will receive two new attractions and an entire land dedicated to villains. The villainous land, dubbed Villains Land, will be home to two major rides, including one featuring Maleficent and another based on the Magic Mirror's Mirror Realm.

The other Disney World parks also received attention during the showcase. At Animal Kingdom, Tropical Americas is set to open in 2027 with three new attractions, including a ride based on the film 'Encanto' and another themed around Indiana Jones. Meanwhile, Hollywood Studios will welcome parts of its long-awaited Monsters, Inc. land next year, although the main attraction, a suspended coaster, will not be ready until later.
