Disney Unveils Record-Breaking Theme Park Expansion Plans
The Walt Disney Company has announced an unprecedented number of new theme park attractions and expansions across its four main parks in Florida, including Walt Disney World.
At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event 2026, Disney revealed a total of 11 new ride announcements for Walt Disney World, with major expansions and overhauls of classic rides set to take place within the worlds of Disney's most beloved stories.
The Magic Kingdom will feature two major expansion projects: Villains Land, which will include a roller coaster starring Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty and a dark ride featuring the Magic Mirror from Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, and Piston Peak National Park, a Cars-themed area in Frontierland with a thrill ride called Cars Ridge Run Rally and a family-friendly spinning ride.
EPCOT will see significant changes, including an overhaul of Journey Into Imagination With Figment and the reimagining of Spaceship Earth, the Audio-Animatronics-filled ride inside EPCOT's geodesic sphere.
