Disney Unveils Secrets Behind Its Immersive Storytelling Experiences
The Walt Disney Company's approach to storytelling has been showcased in its latest film, 'Disney Worldbuilders,' directed by Leslie Iwerks. The film explores how the company brings its stories to life through immersive experiences that allow fans to step into and experience the worlds created.
A panel discussion at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event featured five influential storytellers from Disney, including Iwerks, Pixar's Pete Docter, Star Wars' Jon Favreau, Marvel Studios' Kevin Feige, and Lucasfilm's Dave Filoni. They discussed how their teams work together to create these immersive experiences that cater to different generations of fans.
Iwerks explained the inspiration for 'Disney Worldbuilders,' citing a photograph of Walt Disney riding the mine train through Nature's Wonderland at Disneyland. She expressed her desire to experience it with him, and while she couldn't ask Walt directly, she could ask today's worldbuilders.
