Disney Unveils Sweeping Updates for Walt Disney World Parks

Disney announced a slew of updates and new attractions for its Walt Disney World parks at the D23 fan event. Magic Kingdom will receive a 'Villains Land' and a 'Cars'-themed area, along with updates to the Carousel of Progress.

The beloved matriarch and patriarch of the Carousel of Progress family, Sarah and John, will be voiced by Disney Legend Jamie Lee Curtis and award-winning actor Bryan Cranston. The new scene features four new decades and a Walt Disney Audio-Animatronics figure in late spring 2027.

'Cars' fans can look forward to two new attractions: 'Miss Fritter's Daredevil Spin-Along,' which features the demolition derby legend from 'Cars 3' and a giant school bus Audio-Animatronics figure, Miss Fritter; and 'Cars Ridge Run Rally,' which takes place up and down snow-capped Piston Peak and through a geyser field.

Animal Kingdom is replacing Dinoland U.S.A. with a 'Tropical Americas' land and fixing the Yeti on Expedition Everest. The new land will feature three new attractions: El Carrusel de los Animalitos, Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto, and Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent.
