Disney Voluntears Honor National Day of Service with Meal Packing Event
The anniversary of the 9-11 attacks is now a federally recognized national Day of Service. To honor this spirit, Disney's 'Voluntears' packed meals for charity at the Intrepid Museum in Manhattan on Friday. Among those participating were Disney CEO Josh D'Amaro and Debra OConnell, Chairman of Disney Entertainment Television.
The idea to make September 11 a day of service was first conceived in 2002. This year's event marked the 24th anniversary of this initiative. Disney is the parent company of ABC7 New York, which reported on the event.
