Disney Workers Protest Contract Demands Amid Efforts to Bring Restaurants In-House
Hundreds of union members and allies marched in Kissimmee on Wednesday to call on Disney to terminate Patina Group's contracts at Walt Disney World.
The protest was organized by Unite Here Local 737 Union, which represents workers from Disney-operated restaurants and those employed by Patina Group.
The union is demanding that Disney bring the affected restaurants in-house, making the jobs Disney jobs. This move would mean that Disney would directly employ the staff, rather than contracting them out to a third-party company like Patina Group.
