Disney World Ends Free Parking Loophole at Disney Springs
Disney World has closed a long-standing loophole that allowed visitors to avoid paying for parking at its resorts by parking at Disney Springs, which offers free parking. This 'parking hack' had been in use for nearly two decades and was spread through social media and word of mouth.
The decision to close the loophole came after buses became overcrowded with people taking advantage of the free parking option. To still access Disney's resorts without paying for parking, visitors now have three options: they can be annual passholders, make a dinner reservation at one of the resort hotels, or schedule a spa treatment or other activity at a resort.
Annual passholders receive free standard parking at any of Disney's theme parks. Those with dinner reservations at resorts can board buses from Disney Springs two hours before their scheduled time and stay as long as they like. However, they must return to Disney Springs before the last bus departs.
