The Walt Disney World resort's transportation fleet is growing, and new infrastructure is being built to support it. A permit application has been filed to expand the North Service Area Marina on Bay Lake, which will add two extra slips, increase the dock area by 1,400 square feet, and include additional piling work.

The marina is a backstage facility where Disney maintains and stores watercraft when they are not in service. The expansion is likely to support the addition of new boats to the fleet, which currently includes six 66-foot cruisers and six 38-foot launches.

Disney has not officially announced any vessel additions tied to the project, but Watercraft cast members have indicated that two additional vessels will serve Disney's Lakeshore Lodge once it opens. A fourth Magic Kingdom ferryboat is also under construction.
