Disney World Expands Retail Presence with New Tampa Warehouse
Disney World is expanding its retail presence beyond Orlando by opening a new Character Warehouse at Tampa Premium Outlets. The store will sell official Disney merchandise, including character toys, clothing, and collectibles, but it's not a theme park or attraction.
The news was confirmed through two job postings on the Walt Disney World Resort website in August 2026. The postings described the roles as Merchandise Inventory Specialist and full-time Heart of House lead at the Tampa Premium Outlets location.
Disney has not disclosed an opening date, store hours, or the size of the new location, but the jobs offer a starting hourly rate of $20.10 for inventory specialists and $21.10 for the Heart of House lead. The store will be connected to Disney's distribution network and staffing system, suggesting it won't be treated as an unrelated licensed shop.
Tampa Bay shoppers can expect to see discounted Disney merchandise at the new location, but prices may vary depending on the product and availability. Guests should note that inventory can differ from what's available inside Magic Kingdom or other theme parks.
