Disney World Refurbishments: Carousel of Progress and Blizzard Beach Slide Closed
Two Disney World rides will be closed for refurbishment in September, and one of them is not even in the traditional theme parks. The Carousel of Progress show has been undergoing a major renovation since July, with an expected reopening date in spring 2027.
The revamped attraction will feature new scenes from various decades, including the 1960s, 1980s, and the new millennium. Additionally, it may include a look at possible future developments. The pre-show will be updated to include Walt Disney's Audio Animatronic technology.
Meanwhile, one of Blizzard Beach Water Park's slides will be closed for refurbishment in September. This 90-foot high-speed waterslide is located near Summit Plummet and features two rolling hills that give riders an invigorating lift on the way down.
