Disney World Resorts Face Over 30% Construction and Refurbishment Issues in 2027
Nearly 30% of Walt Disney World's resort options have been put on an 'alteration notice' due to confirmed projects, refurbishments, or transportation interruptions scheduled for 2027. These issues may affect guests at some point during their stay, with some lasting only a few days and others continuing for months.
The hotels currently listed as having concerns include Disney's Pop Century Resort, Art of Animation Resort, All-Star Movies Resort, Animal Kingdom Lodge, Beach Club Resort, BoardWalk Inn, Coronado Springs Resort, Contemporary Resort, Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, and Port Orleans Riverside. However, the type and duration of the issues vary greatly between hotels.
For example, Disney's Pop Century Resort and Art of Animation Resort will experience a temporary closure of the Skyliner transportation system from January 24 to 30, 2027. Meanwhile, Art of Animation will have guest rooms and family suites undergoing updates during summer 2027, which may result in closed areas and daytime construction noise.
