Disney Worldbuilders Documentary Explores Filmmakers' Theme Park Projects
A new documentary on Disney+ explores how filmmakers and their associated theme park projects come to life. 'Disney Worldbuilders' is directed by Leslie Iwerks and features interviews with industry leaders, including former Walt Disney Co. CEO Bob Iger.
The film delves into the childhoods of several storytellers, showcasing how visits to Disneyland had a lasting impact on their careers. Pete Docter, chief creative officer of Pixar Animation Studios, recalls his fondness for Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland, which he believes is 'the best ride.' He also discusses conceptualizing the door factory concept for the film Monsters Inc., which will soon become a theme park attraction.
