Disney World's Beloved Railroad to Close Again This Fall

The Walt Disney World Railroad at Magic Kingdom will be closed for refurbishment from September 28 through October 29, 2026.

This is not the first time the ride has been shortened; in 2025, its route was drastically shortened to accommodate construction on the west side of Magic Kingdom.

The ride's current modified route will likely remain in place when it reopens, as Piston Peak and Villains Land are still several years away from opening.
