Disney World's New Ferryboat Dock Construction Makes Progress at Magic Kingdom
Walt Disney World Resort has been busy constructing a new ferryboat dock at the entrance to Magic Kingdom Park. The construction project, which began in early 2026, is expected to increase capacity for guests traveling to and from the Transportation & Ticket Center (TTC) on Seven Seas Lagoon.
The new loading and unloading area will be particularly useful when Disney introduces a fourth ferryboat to its fleet: the Meg Gilbert Crofton. Named after a former president of Walt Disney World Resort, this vessel is expected to join the fleet sometime in 2027.
Crews have been busy cutting and installing wood pillars at the construction site, connecting them to an existing walkway with wooden joists. The type of major construction that requires an excavator appears to be complete, as a barge previously carrying such equipment has disappeared from the site.
