Disney Wraps Twilight Zone Tower of Terror in Scaffolding for Major Refurbishment

The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios has been shrouded in scaffolding as part of a refurbishment project that began six months ago. The construction permit was filed by Walt Disney World Resort back in March, and since then, crews have been repainting the iconic 199-foot-tall building.

The exterior work started with the queue area under the Hollywood Tower Hotel facade and gradually made its way up to the top of the structure. Fresh pink paint has been applied, giving the building a new look that's intentionally aged and haunted.

Although the attraction is still operating normally, the scaffolding now wraps around the entire building, with crews working on the back side as well. Walt Disney World Resort hasn't announced any plans to shut down the ride or given an estimated completion date for the exterior refurbishment.
