Disney's AI Booking Chatbot Takes Center Stage at Walt Disney World
Walt Disney World is introducing artificial intelligence (AI) into its booking site and app. The AI engine, which will launch in beta soon, allows users to ask booking questions conversationally. For example, a user can say 'My children love The Little Mermaid, we want to stay near the Magic Kingdom park with easy transportation, what hotel should we book?'
The AI chatbot will provide personalized suggestions based on the user's preferences and needs. Users can also ask the chatbot to compare different resorts across features like location and pricing.
Disney is partnering with Google Cloud for the AI portion of this project, but it will only use official Disney data rather than scraping information from the broader internet. The AI summaries and bookings will not extend to Disney's Lightning Lane service or dining reservations at launch.
The beta experience will be available to randomly selected guests in Canada and the US, and Disney will use their feedback to improve the AI tool before a wider phased launch.
