Disney's Animal Kingdom to Get Encanto-Themed Ride in 2027
A new theme ride is coming to Disney's Animal Kingdom in the Tropical Americas area, replacing DinoLand U.S.A. The ride will be based on the popular Disney movie 'Encanto', focusing on Antonio and his animals rather than the film's plot.
At D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event, Walt Disney Imagineering shared models of the ride scene, vehicles, and animatronics. One model shows the kitchen of Casita decorated for Antonio's birthday, featuring various animals including a pig, donkey, and bird on the chandelier.
The ride vehicles will incorporate household furniture like a piano and dresser, with guests seated on benches designed to look like couches or chairs. The house in 'Encanto' has magical abilities, bringing furniture to life, and this is reflected in the ride's design.
Animatronic models were also displayed, including a donkey, toucan, and capybara - Antonio's friend Chispi. The Tropical Americas area will open in 2027.
