Disney's Animation Experience Hides Dozens of Hidden Treasures
A new animation experience at Disney's Hollywood Studios is set to open on September 14. Walt Disney Imagineering has given guests a sneak peek into the Animator's Office, where they can spot Easter eggs and real Disney Animation history.
The office features items that are not just props but actual pieces of studio life. These include a mug filled with pencils originally given to architects who worked on the animation building, and red rubber bands used by animators to bundle completed scenes together.
Other hidden treasures include Chicken Little's glasses, a book filled with caricatures drawn by Disney animators, and a copy of Rabbit Rabbit, an internal newsletter from 1998 celebrating Mulan reaching $100 million at the box office.
The shelves in the Animator's Office are packed with books, artwork, and other little pieces of studio life that make it feel like an actual workspace. This attention to detail is fitting given the original Magic of Disney Animation allowed guests to watch real artists at work when Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida operated at Disney-MGM Studios.
