Disney's BoardWalk Refurbishment to Close Village Green This August

Disney has announced plans to refurbish its BoardWalk area at Walt Disney World Resort. The work is scheduled to run from now through late 2026, with a second phase confirmed for early 2027.

The Village Green courtyard will close from August 10 through September 4, 2026, due to the refurbishment. This area typically hosts various activities, including Movie Under the Stars and outdoor Christmas tree lighting. During this time, these events will be relocated to other areas of the resort.

In addition to the Village Green closure, three more spots will close for routine maintenance from January 11 through April 2027: Luna Park Pool, Luna Park Crazy Play Area, and Leaping Horse Libations. However, guests can still use the Villas Pool and the Inn Pool during this period.
