Disney's Carousel of Progress Gets Major Makeover with New Animatronics and Scenes
The Magic Kingdom's Carousel of Progress has closed for its biggest update since opening in 1975. The revamped ride will feature Walt Disney animatronics and new scenes, replacing most of the classic version. According to a permit filed by Disney, audiovisual company Solotech Sales and Integration U.S.A., Inc. is working on electrical work for the ride.
The company's scope includes video projections, LED walls, media servers, lighting, and more, suggesting that their work will be visible to guests. This is not just basic electrical wiring, but a significant upgrade to the ride's technology. The changes are part of a larger update that sees each scene reimagined for different decades, from the 1960s moon landing to a possible future.
