Disney's D23 Expo Falls Short on Key Announcements

Some of the announced updates included Villains Land coming to Magic Kingdom, Piston Peak also arriving at Magic Kingdom, and Pueblo Esperanza opening in Animal Kingdom. But despite these exciting developments, several key projects were left unmentioned.
The Avatar expansion for Disney California Adventure was one such project that did not receive any mention during the showcase. The model for the new land was displayed at the Imagineering: Horizons pavilion, but no timeline or further details were provided. Similarly, Disney's Abu Dhabi park project and the PLAY! Pavilion in EPCOT also received little attention.
