Disney's Five Beloved Attractions Face Uncertain Futures

Disney's ongoing transformation of its theme parks has raised concerns about the future of several classic attractions. According to Disney Fanatic, five popular experiences may be on the chopping block: Mission: SPACE, Swiss Family Treehouse, Gran Fiesta Tour, Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room, and Star Tours.

Mission: SPACE, a simulator ride in EPCOT since 2003, has been upgraded to resemble its Mars-bound journey. However, with Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind nearby, it's possible that Mission: SPACE could be replaced by another experience focused on space exploration or discovery.

The Swiss Family Treehouse, located in Adventureland at Magic Kingdom, has been a park staple since 1971. While Disney hasn't announced any plans to remove it, the company could revamp the attraction with a new story, such as a Jungle Book-inspired version.

Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros in EPCOT's Mexico pavilion has been a beloved boat ride since 2007. With the popularity of Disney's Coco (2017), it's possible that the pavilion could be revamped with a new attraction centered around this franchise.

The Tiki Room, another Magic Kingdom classic, debuted in 1971 as Tropical Serenade and was later revamped under various names. Rumors have circulated about potential Moana or Pirates-themed experiences, but nothing has been confirmed by Disney.
