Disney's Grand Floridian Walkway Closes for Latest Refurbishment Project
The Grand Floridian Resort Area at Walt Disney World Resort is closed due to ongoing refurbishments. A walkway in front of the resort has been blocked off, with guests directed to use an alternate route. The construction does not affect the Monorail walkway or transportation to Magic Kingdom Park and EPCOT.
The refurbishment project includes repairs to the iconic white railings bordering the paved walkway and landscaping changes. This is part of a larger renovation effort at Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa, which began with the reimagined lobby and The Perch birdcage-shaped lobby bar in late 2025.
General refurbishments around the resort are expected to continue through 2027, including work on the porte cochere. The Grand Floridian Café is currently closed for renovation until November 2. The life-sized gingerbread house in the lobby will not return this holiday season to facilitate smoother overnight guest experience.
