Disney's Hollywood Studios Fires Up World Drive Launch Site in Mysterious Test
Disney's Hollywood Studios at Walt Disney World tested fireworks at its World Drive launch site late last night. The test, which saw large shells launching every couple of minutes, has sparked speculation about a possible new nighttime show or event tied to an upcoming corporate conference.
The Gartner IT Symposium | Xpo conference is scheduled for October 20, and Disney's Hollywood Studios will close early that day as the event takes over. The park's closure from 5:00pm onwards has raised questions about whether a private event will be held that evening.
The World Drive launch site was built to serve as the primary fireworks area for Disney's Hollywood Studios when it debuted in 2016 with Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. However, the setup has seen limited use since then, except for occasional one-off events and shows like Jingle Bell, Jingle BAM!
The test may indicate a return to regular use of the site or preparation for an upcoming event that will make the most of its capabilities.
