Disney's 'Lion' Series Roars to Life This Summer
Disney and National Geographic have teamed up to bring viewers an epic wildlife series called 'Lion', which chronicles the remarkable four-year journey of a lion cub named Kio as he becomes a king. The show blends traditional wildlife documentaries with drama and storytelling to deliver a gripping narrative that will keep audiences on the edge of their seats. According to Jon Favreau, 'the pride never ceased to surprise us' during the four-year tracking period, and the series is a testament to the incredible stories that can be found in nature.
The original soundtrack for 'Lion', featuring music by Zimmer and local Kenyan musicians, will be released on August 21st through Hollywood Records. The series itself debuts on National Geographic's linear channel on August 19th, with all episodes streaming on Disney+ and Hulu the next day.
