Disney's Live-Action Tangled Sets Sights on March 31, 2028 Release Date
Disney's live-action remake of Tangled has finally set its release date. The movie will hit theaters on March 31, 2028. Fans got a first look at footage from the film during the Disney Entertainment Showcase at D23 in Anaheim. Teagan Croft will play Rapunzel and Milo Manheim will take on the role of Flynn Rider.
The story follows the princess after she's been locked away in a tower for years due to her magically long hair. Her world gets turned upside down when Flynn, a thief on the run, winds up in her tower and they set off on an adventure together. The cast also includes Kathryn Hahn as Mother Gothel, who keeps Rapunzel hidden away, and Diego Luna in a new role created for the live-action movie.
Filming started in Spain in June, marking a significant step forward for the long-gestating project. Disney first announced plans for the live-action Tangled in December 2024, but it was reportedly put on hold after Snow White struggled at the box office.
