Disney's Magic Kingdom Expands with Piston Peak National Park
Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom is getting a new Cars-themed area called Piston Peak National Park in Frontierland. This expansion is inspired by a location featured in the 'Planes: Fire & Rescue' spinoff and will give Radiator Springs' cars a chance to explore the wilderness.
The expansive land will include two attractions set amidst a natural environment, one of which features a school bus-sized Audio-Animatronics figure. The first attraction is Miss Fritter's Daredivel Spin Along, a family-friendly ride with the demolition derby legend from 'Cars 3'. The second and signature attraction is Cars Ridge Run Rally, a road race up and down snow-capped Piston Peak through a geyser field.
Construction on Piston Peak and its attractions has begun at Magic Kingdom, with Walt Disney Imagineering creating new figures, props, and special effects. This new area promises an immersive experience for visitors with its realistic ride system featuring vehicles that rock, bump, and drop as they traverse the rugged terrain.
