Disney's Magic of Animation Brings Legacy and Craftsmanship to Life
The Walt Disney World resort is undergoing its largest expansion in nearly 55 years, with new lands and attractions like Villains Land and Piston Peak being developed. However, it's not just about building new experiences, Disney is also focusing on revitalizing its classic historical attractions to make them more engaging for guests.
A prime example of this effort is The Magic of Disney Animation at Hollywood Studios, which opened its doors to the public on September 14th. This attraction replaces the old Star Wars Launch Bay and serves as a modern take on the original iteration that was located in Walt Disney Feature Animation Florida studio.
The new Magic of Disney Animation allows guests to experience the process of bringing a Disney film from concept to completion, with various interactive experiences and exhibits showcasing the art and craftsmanship behind beloved movies. One such exhibit is Olaf Draws!, where an Audio-Animatronics figure of Olaf teaches visitors how to draw their favorite characters.
The attraction's courtyard features character statues, Grauman's Chinese Theatre-style cement blocks with hand or paw prints, and roaming characters that can surprise guests. The overall atmosphere is designed to evoke a sense of legacy and care for the Disney heritage.
