Disney's Magic of Animation Merchandise Makes its Debut
The Magic of Disney Animation has officially opened at Hollywood Studios, and with it comes a new collection of merchandise. The lineup is heavily influenced by classic Disney animation artwork and model sheets, paying homage to Walt Disney Animation Studios and its artists.
Among the standout items are a pair of Disney Animation Mickey ears covered in blue sketch-style artwork featuring characters from various films. These ears are priced at $36.99. Other notable pieces include a white Disney Ink & Paint shirt featuring Sorcerer Mickey surrounded by character sketches, and a colorful Walt Disney World backpack with animated characters.
Disney Pin Collectors will be particularly interested in the new pins celebrating The Magic of Disney Animation, including one featuring Olaf Draws! and a limited-release design with Mickey and Minnie running in front of the attraction's Sorcerer Mickey hat. There is also an oversized limited-edition pin featuring a crowd of Disney Animation characters spilling out in front of the new attraction for $99.99.
The collection even extends to medallions, which can be purchased individually for $10 or as a set of four for $35. These unique keepsakes feature Mickey and Minnie, Stitch, Genie, and Ariel with Flounder, along with the Magic of Disney Animation logo on the reverse side.
The merchandise display has been designed to feel connected to what The Magic of Disney Animation is celebrating, with sketches, model-sheet details, and Sorcerer Mickey references giving the collection personality. It seems Disney knew exactly which crowd would be coming for these items, as the quantity of pins available suggests they were anticipating a strong demand.
