Disney's Monstropolis Land Unveils 'Welcome to Monstropolis' Show and Suspended Coaster

Disney's Hollywood Studios is getting a major upgrade with the introduction of Monsters, Inc. land. The new area will feature two main attractions: a suspended roller coaster that recreates the doors chase scene from the first movie and an unknown theater show. According to Disney, the Glob Theater, which was previously home to Muppet*Vision 3D, will be revamped to welcome guests to Monstropolis with a brand-new theatrical show called 'Welcome to Monstropolis.' The show will feature a song written by Randy Newman, making it his first contribution to a Disney Park.

Concept art for the new show suggests that it will be a grand welcome for visitors.

Chris Beatty, Vice President of Walt Disney Imagineering, teased that Sulley has been working on a simple homespun show, but Mike has some surprises up his sleeve that may bring down the house.

Monsters, Inc. land is set to open in phases, with the first part opening as early as 2027 while work continues on the door roller coaster.
