Disney's Mysterious Artifact Teaser Unveiled for D23 Event

The highly anticipated D23 event is just around the corner, and Disney has dropped a major teaser for this weekend. From August 14th to 16th, the multi-day offering will feature panels and showcases discussing upcoming projects and sharing news about the future of the company.

One of the highlights of the event is the Imagineering Pavilion, where attendees can get a sneak peek at new offerings coming soon to theme parks. But this year, it's leveling up with a special appearance by the Society of Explorers and Adventurers (S.E.A.).

S.E.A. is a fictional society tied into the backstories of several Disney attractions, restaurants, and experiences worldwide. The organization will be collaborating with Walt Disney Imagineering to showcase a new, recently-discovered artifact at the Imagineering Pavilion.

The backstory says that an S.E.A. archivist has been cataloguing artifacts in the society's collection for the past three months. One crate unearthed from the archives, unopened for over a century, is making its way to D23. But neither Imagineering nor S.E.A. knows what's inside!
