Disney's Oswald Returns: Live-Action Series Announced for Disney+
At D23, Jon Favreau unveiled his next Disney+ project, a series titled Oswald. The show marks a return to the spotlight for Walt Disney's nearly 100-year-old character, Oswald the Lucky Rabbit.
Favreau is turning to one of Walt Disney's earliest creations, and the new series blends live-action with hand-drawn 2D animation. The story follows three middle schoolers after an earthquake frees Oswald from decades of hiding.
The three-episode miniseries features a young trio of actors: Ravi Cabot-Conyers, Ryder Allen, and Mykal-Michelle Harris, along with Amy Sedaris, Kathryn Hahn, Al Madrigal, Steve Martin, and Bernell Pesino. Oswald premieres on Disney+ on February 17, 2027.
