Disney's Pressed Penny Machines Get a Modern Makeover
The Walt Disney World Resort has introduced modern replacements for its five Magic Kingdom lands.
The new machines, equipped with digital screens, accept both cash and card payments. Guests can purchase a full set of eight designs for $5 or individual coins for $1 using cash, but must buy the full set if paying by card.
The upgraded machines also come stocked with copper discs, eliminating the need for guests to provide their own pennies.
The rollout began on August 31 and has since spread across the park, with new machines appearing in Storybook Circus, Tomorrowland Speedway, Tony's Town Square Restaurant, and other locations. The medallion machines have also been updated, offering premade coins for $10 apiece or a full set of four designs for $35.
These changes are part of Disney's ongoing efforts to modernize its operations and provide enhanced experiences for guests.
