Disney's Secret Storytellers Unveiled in New Documentary Series
Leslie Iwerks, granddaughter of Ub Iwerks and Walt Disney's original animator, has directed a documentary called 'Disney Worldbuilders' that explores how Disney's biggest stories come to life in real-world experiences. The film features interviews with top creatives at Disney, including Bob Iger, James Cameron, Jon Favreau, Kevin Feige, Jennifer Lee, Pete Docter, Dave Filoni, Jared Bush, and Josh D'Amaro.
The documentary delves into the creative process behind beloved Disney franchises like 'Avatar', 'Star Wars', Marvel, Pixar's 'Frozen' and 'Zootopia'. Iwerks also shares behind-the-scenes moments from upcoming lands and attractions at Disney destinations worldwide.
'Disney Worldbuilders' will make its world premiere at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event on August 16 before streaming on Disney+ on August 20. The documentary offers a unique glimpse into one of the biggest eras of expansion in Disney parks history.
