The situation may be short-lived, however, as Disney has the restaurant listed as open again on September 7. No official explanation has been given for the sudden closure, but guests are waiting to see if the restaurant will resume operations as scheduled.
Steakhouse 71 opened in 2021 as part of Walt Disney World's 50th Anniversary celebration and is named after the opening year of the resort. The restaurant has a connection to Disneyland history, acting as an East Coast version of Steakhouse 55, which previously operated at the Disneyland Hotel.
For guests who lost reservations, the sudden closure meant changing plans at the last minute and searching for somewhere else to eat.
