Disney's Streets of America Brings Cities to Life in Hollywood Studios
The Streets of America in Disney's Hollywood Studios is an area that was formerly known as New York Street, but it got its new name in 2004 with the addition of San Francisco street scenes. This area creates the illusion of various cities using forced perspective techniques, making it seem like you're walking through different parts of the world.
The area features buildings that are all facades, including a London street and one right out of Chinatown. If you listen closely, you'll often hear sound effects of a busy city in the background. Kids can spend time winding their way through giant blades of grass in the nearby Honey, I Shrunk The Kids Movie Set Adventure.
The area also hosts various live entertainment, including performances by Mulch, Sweat and Shears, as well as shows like High School Musical. Toy Story characters are found throughout the day at Al's Toy Barn, and Power Rangers can be seen in this area occasionally.
