Disney's Swan and Dolphin Resort Now Largest Convention Hotel on East Coast
The Walt Disney World Swan and Dolphin resort has just opened its largest convention center expansion yet, making it the biggest on the East Coast. The new addition adds over 100,000 square feet of meeting space to the existing 348,000 square feet, bringing the total indoor and outdoor event space to over 600,000 square feet.
The $275 million transformation is part of a larger project that has invested in a major renovation and expansion. The new convention center features three main areas: the Upper Peninsula Ballroom (38,000 sq ft), Lower Peninsula multi-function space (40,000 sq ft), and pre-function space (38,000 sq ft).
The Swan and Dolphin resorts are strategically located between EPCOT and Disney's Hollywood Studios, making them a competitive advantage for convention planners. With the addition of more meeting space, the resort can now accommodate larger conferences and events, which is expected to attract more business during traditionally slower periods.
