Disney's Tiana's Bayou Adventure Closes for Six-Week Refurbishment
Tiana's Bayou Adventure at Walt Disney World is set to close for a significant refurbishment starting November 2, 2026. The ride will be offline for approximately six or seven weeks before reopening in December.
The attraction has faced reliability problems since its opening in June 2024, including broken Audio-Animatronics and missing effects. While Disney has made improvements to the ride's overall reliability, it still experiences downtime due to individual show elements not functioning properly.
Disney describes the refurbishment as a routine maintenance project, with no plans for major changes or reimaginings. However, some speculate that this could be the first step towards a more significant overhaul in 2028, when Piston Peak National Park is expected to open and add additional ride capacity to Magic Kingdom.
The 2026 refurbishment will likely focus on addressing immediate maintenance needs, but may not have enough time to fully address all of the attraction's problems. Disney could potentially return for a more ambitious project in 2028, involving replacements or updates to troublesome elements.
