Disney's Tower of Terror Hides Behind Metal Scaffolding Amid Holiday Season Preparations
The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror at Disney's Hollywood Studios is undergoing an extensive exterior overhaul. The iconic weathered facade has largely vanished behind a massive grid of metal scaffolding and protective construction scrims.
Guests walking down Sunset Boulevard are greeted by the extraordinary sight, as the attraction remains open during the refurbishment work. Scaffolding now covers substantial portions of the main front elevation, the far-right side exterior wall, and upper portions of the tower.
The project began with construction permitting in March 2026 and has expanded into an extensive exterior overhaul covering the front, side, and upper portions of the 199-foot structure. While the attraction itself remains open to guests, the dramatic change to one of Walt Disney World's most famous landmarks is sparking widespread discussion.
