Disney's Tropical Americas Land Expansion May Not Include Live Animals

Disney's Tropical Americas land expansion for Animal Kingdom has been generating excitement among fans. However, not everyone is pleased with the latest developments. A former Disney Imagineer, Joe Rohde, recently shared on Instagram that there are currently no plans to introduce live animals in the new land.

Rohde's comments suggest that while live animals were a major expectation for this expansion, given Animal Kingdom's focus on conservation and sustainability, they may not be included when Tropical Americas opens. However, Rohde hinted that live animals could potentially be introduced in the future once funding is secured.

Despite the potential disappointment for fans who were looking forward to seeing live animals from the Amazon region, Disney has announced several exciting attractions for the new land, including Antonio's Fiesta de Encanto and Indiana Jones and the Myth of the Jade Serpent. The expansion will also feature a large hacienda-style quick-service restaurant and classic Spanish architecture.

While some fans may be disappointed by the lack of live animals, Rohde emphasized that Animal Kingdom needs rides for young people, which is what they are getting with this new expansion.
