Disney's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park Closes for Refurbishment, Reopening in 2027
Walt Disney World Resort's Typhoon Lagoon Water Park has closed its gates for scheduled seasonal refurbishment. According to the resort's website, the park was open until September 8th and is now closed until further notice. This annual closure allows for maintenance and upkeep of the water park facilities.
The water park will likely reopen in spring 2027, following a similar schedule as previous years. During this time, guests can visit Disney's Blizzard Beach Water Park instead. In fact, both water parks operated simultaneously from May 26th to September 8th as part of the Cool KIDS' SUMMER promotion.
Under the promotion, Disney Resort hotel guests received complimentary admission to either water park on their check-in day. However, this year's policy change limited free admission to only during the Cool KIDS' SUMMER period. It remains unclear if the resort will reinstate same-day free admission for 2027.
