Disney's Voice Actor Go-To Alan Tudyk: A Talented Versatile Favorite
Alan Tudyk's versatility as a voice actor has made him a go-to choice for Disney's animated features. With a career spanning over two decades, he has lent his voice to numerous characters in various films and TV shows.
Tudyk's affinity for voicing lively characters started at a young age, where he would practice doing voices of comedians like Robin Williams. His talent eventually led him to provide the voice for King Candy in Wreck-It Ralph (2012), a character who belies his dark side. He has since voiced everything from a baby goat with a suave leading man's heart and soul to a skittish rooster.
From Moana (2016) to Encanto (2021), Tudyk has been a part of every Disney animated movie since 2012, including Zootopia (2016) and Raya and the Last Dragon (2021). He also narrated and provided additional voices for Strange World (2022) and was the voice of Valentino the goat in Walt Disney Animation Studios' centenary year feature, Wish (2023).
Chris Buck, director of Wish, praised Tudyk's performance, saying 'He's brilliant. We'll give him a line and maybe an alt or two, and he'll give us things we never thought of, Valentino's low voice was unexpected to say the least.'
