Disney's Zootopia Franchise Expands with Record-Breaking Third Installment

Disney's Zootopia franchise is expanding once again. The studio has announced that a third installment, titled Zootopia 3, is in the works. This comes on the heels of the record-breaking success of Zootopia 2, which grossed over $1.87 billion worldwide.

The announcement was made during Disney's D23 fan event by Disney Animation head Jared Bush, who was joined by Ginnifer Goodwin and Ke Huy Quan. According to Bush, the new film will see the return of beloved characters from the original series and introduce a new bird-centered storyline.

Goodwin, who voiced Judy Hopps in the franchise, expressed her excitement about the prospect of a third installment, stating, 'The bunny and the snake will be back!' The original Zootopia film was released in 2016 and grossed over $1 billion worldwide.
